Inexpensive Peonies

If you don't have a lot of money for buying peonies, avoid new varieties. Cultivars which have been around for a long time are often much cheaper than the recently developed varieties. In particular, intersectional (or Itoh) hybrids are a relatively new development, and are among the most expensive of peonies.
